About Dr. Hassanein

Dr. Tarek I. Hassanein is a board-certified gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist with over 30 years of experience. He specializes in treating viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, and providing comprehensive care for patients before and after liver transplantation. Dr. Hassanein is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and has been instrumental in establishing three major liver transplant programs.
